SUMMARY:Tour Summerville High School with ABS Students
DESCRIPTION:Time capsules are meant to provide a bird’s eye view into the past for future generations.  They usually have a theme.  They usually are constructed of metal so that they hold up in the earth and can be opened at some designated time in the future. \nThe time capsule that is being created for Summerville High School is to commemorate 111 years of education in Tuolumne County with a focus on depicting life on campus in 2022.  The capsule will be opened by a whole new generation in 2050.  What will life be like on our planet in 2050?  Only time will tell the tale. \nJohn LaTorre is the person who stepped forward to build this time capsule. It will be made of steel\, and will measure 24” x 24” x 18” high.  It will have a sealed rubber coating on the outside to protect it from moisture in the earth.  The ASB (Associated Student Body) officers and members have come forward to put together the stories and photos for the time capsule.  It will for sure have a yearbook from 2022. \nMichael Merrill and Gilbert Hammerbeck are in charge of finding just the right place on campus to bury the capsule. The capsule will be buried on Sunday\, September 18\, at 2:00 pm in a special ceremony. The public is invited to attend.  We will be serving Birthday Cake and refreshments right after the ceremony.  You won’t want to miss this very special occasion.  Twenty-eight years from now you may want to attend the opening of the capsule.

SUMMARY:Birthday Cake & Refreshments
DESCRIPTION:The 111th Birthday Cake will be just as special as the 100th Birthday Cake!  Why is that you say?  Well because the cake is being made by a very special woman by the name of Kellie Morningstar who is famous\, locally\, for the cakes she designs.  Not only do they look great\, but they taste even better.  Many locals have been having their birthday cakes made by Kellie for a good share of their lives. She is invested in this community in a very good way! \nShe is making carrot cake for the dessert at the Feed the Bears dinner.  And she is doing a tiered birthday cake for the end of the day Time Capsule Ceremony at Summerville High School.  The word is that cake will be white with a chocolate-raspberry filling.  Kellie’s cakes are always worth the wait and so delicious!! \n
