Her four years at Summerville High School were some of the most influential years of her life. Sports kept her busy while also teaching her valuable life lessons including hard work and working as a team. This is also where she would create some of her most valued, lifelong friendships. She competed in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Throughout her four years, she had the honor of being a part of several championship teams and received several awards.

Although she loved to compete in just about anything, volleyball was her favorite sport. Her team won the Mother Lode League all four years. She was awarded All-League honors for 3 years, and MVP of the Mother Lode League her Junior and Senior year. Jessica spent all four years on the varsity softball team as a catcher with multiple league championships and received All-League honors all 4 years. Her team As far as basketball was MVP of her JV basketball team and asked to move to the Varsity team as a Sophomore. After her Sophomore year, she decided to focus on club/travel volleyball during the winter.

Along with her athletic achievements, Jessica also received All-League Academic Honors all four years at Summerville. She was a member of CSF-Lifetime Member and was also an active member of ASB. As a senior, she was Vice President of the Student Body.

Jessica has been a Pediatric Emergency Room Nurse for almost 10 years now. She is married to Summerville Bears alumni AJ Sooter. They have one daughter together, Addison Sooter with another one on the way.

Summerville’s sports and educational programs gave Jessica a great foundation for life that she still cherishes today. Summerville coaches like Kristy Dwyer, Amy Wahlbrink, Ben Watson, and Ray Emerald gave her irreplaceable memories and life lessons that built her into the person she is today, and for that, she is forever grateful. The teachers and staff at Summerville set her up for a successful college education and a successful career in emergency nursing. Above all, she is grateful for her parents and the unconditional love and support throughout her journey.
