I attended Summerville Union High School from 1977-1981. I made honor roll all four years as well as being a member of the California Scholarship Federation. I was a member of ASB and was the Student Body President my senior year. I was in the band all four years of high school.
I was also involved in athletics during my time at Summerville High. I participated in football, basketball, baseball, and track. I was an all-league selection in both football and baseball my senior year. I credit the athletics I participated in throughout my high school career to the choice I made to be a coach in the community and at Summerville High for over 30 years.
If I were to share with anyone about my time at Summerville Union High School it would be to tell them to get involved. Life is too short and you don’t want to let any day pass by without being involved. Participating in activities and joining teams will lead to life-long memories and many conversation pieces. I can still remember helping organize the Junior-Senior Prom and the laughter and friendships it created.
After attending college I came back to the area to teach and where I met my wife. We raised five children all of whom attended and graduated from Summerville Union High School. I have numerous grandchildren who are involved in youth sports. I enjoy returning to SHS to watch students I have taught or coach taking part in activities , plays, or sports.
