Congratulations to the Hall of Fame 2021 Honorees
Here’s a little history for those of you who are unfamiliar with the Summerville Union High School District Hall of Fame:
This tradition goes way back. In the past, Hall of Fame awards have been given for graduates of Summerville Union High School District to students who have excelled in sports. Typically, awards were passed out in the form of lifetime, all sports passes to sporting events at the high school. Awardees’ names were read during half-time at Summerville Basketball games. Unfortunately, interest in doing the awards faded away during the mid-1980s.
All of us in the Summerville Foundation helped form a community committee in recent years to bring this tradition back. Every year we ask the community to nominate those who have excelled not only in Athletics, but in Arts and Academics as well. These honorees are typically announced and celebrated at our annual Feed the Bears Fundraiser dinner. This year we announced them in the program of our modified Feed the Bears dinner that took place yesterday at the Willow Springs clubhouse.
We are proud to honor these amazing Summerville graduates for their various accomplishments. Congratulations everyone!
